 | With Babcock Ranch we have an unprecedented opportunity to create a new community from a blank sheet of paper that is something truly special and uniquely Florida. Babcock Ranch will be a new community that, from the very beginning, takes into account the existing environmental landscape and creates a true model for stewardship and innovative design.
Kitson & Partners envisions a new type of sustainable community on the southwest portion of the property that will provide residents with diverse natural and recreational experiences. Florida is in urgent need of communities that are sustainable – where residents live, work, learn and play in close proximity.
By utilizing the latest in green building techniques, we will create a community where residents can enjoy diverse natural and recreational experiences in our greenways and conservation areas; where residents can step out their front doors, set out on a three-mile hike and forget about traffic.
It is vital to balance environmentally compatible shops, businesses, schools, parks, other retail and commercial uses with the new homes to avoid excessive burdens on the county’s infrastructure. We are committed to doing just that, and to working with the counties to pursue economic development opportunities by providing facilities and developing partnerships to attract high-paying jobs.
Our vision includes a community of 19,500 homes, providing a full range of housing at all price ranges. They will be contained within an approximate 17,000-acre footprint. In addition, there will be up to 6,000,000 square feet of retail and commercial space to create a sustainable community. Kitson & Partners is committed to seeing this vision through, and to working closely with Charlotte and Lee Counties as we create a new community that everyone will be proud to have had a significant part in designing.
